Professional Development Scholarship

This scholarship is designed for college students looking to enroll in an external class that will push their boundaries and present opportunities and career goals that might not be available in the college curriculum.   


Qualifications and requirements: 

  • You must be enrolled full time at a college/university and be working towards a career in guiding, outdoor education, wilderness therapy, expedition or adventure education, or similar program up to age 35. 

  •  Keep a written and/or photo journal about your experiences while attending the program to share with the Reeno Foundation. 

  • Maximum scholarship amount available: ½ of program cost with a maximum of $5000. The course can be taken for college credit.  It can be used towards education conferences, workshops, and certification courses. 

  • A lifetime monetary cap of $5,000 and 1 course/year at the discretion of the Board. The Board determines scholarships on a case-by-case basis and we encourage you to apply, but we typically award 1 scholarship per year and up to a lifetime cap of $5,000.

Application process:

  •  Write a letter explaining why you feel that you qualify, and how the Reeno Foundation Mission statement reflects your own personal and professional goals. 

  • Please submit a letter of recommendation from a coach, teacher, mentor etc. 

  •  Fill out the application form and submit them together to either  reenofoundation@gmail.com or  Reeno Foundation PO Box 1, Lowell VT 05847

Timeline 

  •  Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. The funds will be paid directly to the program on behalf of the participant. Please allow the board of directors 6-8 weeks to review applications.
