Memphremagog Trails Present:  Grateful (An XC Race)

WE'RE BACK!

Get ready for an epic return to Memphremagog Trails—secretly home to some of the most fun, flowy, and technical singletrack in the region. Grateful 2025 is back and is calling all mountain bikers to rally together, ride, race, and reconnect. Whether you’re chasing the podium or a weekend warrior simply after an epic day of riding, this is the XC event you won’t want to miss.

The Course!

A freshly-updated 10-mile loop of pure singletrack magic:

  • Fast, flowy, machined descents
  • Tight, twisty tech (watch out for roots and tight trees…. It's old-school tech at its finest)
  • Over 1,300 ft of elevation gain
  • And... a few new secret features for returning riders (trust us, you’ll be stoked)

This course is designed to challenge and thrill all levels.

Race It or Ride It!

You choose your vibe:

  • Race 1 Lap (10+ miles): A solid test of skill and stamina
  • Race 2 Laps (Are you crazy? Don't worry, we like that.)
  • Party Pace Option: No timing, just “party pace”—ride the course at your own speed, soak up the views. Enjoy the full race-day atmosphere without any pressure.

Yes, there are prizes. Yes, there’s cheering. Yes, you’ll love it.

Food, Music, and a Good Time!

Expect delicious local food trucks, live music, and an unbeatable Grateful community vibe. From the first rider to the last, the party doesn’t stop.

Grounded in Community, Driven by Inclusion!

Committed to expanding access to outdoor recreation and acting as a leader in building community, Memphremagog Trails is once again honored to work with amazing community organizations. All event proceeds support local charities focused on youth mental health and outdoor recreation opportunities. Grateful is driven by the ideas of “No Pressure, No Prejudice” — welcoming all genders and abilities to ride, connect, and give back together.

The Reeno Foundation!

Memphremagog Trails and Grateful is excited to partner with the Reeno Foundation.  The Reeno Foundation was created to honor the memory of Nicholas Ruschmeyer.  Nick was a warrior who always put others first. His wishes were for a foundation to be started to offer opportunities for young people to experience hiking, climbing, backcountry skiing, paddling, and all the outdoors has to offer.  The Reeno Foundation increases access to powerful, transformative outdoor experiences for children and young adults.  Focused in the northeastern US, Reeno enables young people to participate in experiential education or professional outdoor opportunities, and encourages a life-long connection to the natural world.

Make Grateful a Weekend!

This year, Grateful joins Newport’s Outdoor Recreation Celebration, running August 29–31. Enjoy family-friendly events all weekend—gravel rides, sailing, guided canoe trips, ‘bike in’ movies, and more. Come early, stay late, eat local, and experience the best of the Northeast Kingdom ALL WEEKEND LONG!
